Description

There is one question we get asked more than any other, at masterclasses and in our DMs. How do I cover the darkness under my eyes?

The answer is colour theory. The blue, purple and grey tones we get under the eyes need to be neutralised before you conceal, and peach is exactly the colour that cancels them out. That is why we made Studio Correct in shade 1W.

We started with just one corrector on purpose, because colour correcting can feel intimidating if you have never done it before. This is the one to start with, and it is simpler than you think.

A little peach first under the eyes, let it settle for a moment, then your concealer over the top. One small step, and an incredible difference.

HOW TO USE

A little goes a very long way. Less is more with a corrector.

Correct. Apply a small amount of Studio Correct under the eyes, exactly where the darkness sits.

Settle. Let it settle for a moment so it can do its work.

Conceal. Apply Studio Cover over the top, ideally a shade lighter than your foundation.

Blend. Blend gently with your fingertips, a brush or a sponge.

FAQ

What does a colour corrector do?

It neutralises unwanted tones before you conceal. Under the eyes we get blue, purple and grey tones, and peach is the colour that cancels them out, so your concealer can sit cleaner and brighter on top.

I have never colour corrected. Is this hard?

Not at all. We made one peach corrector on purpose, as the easy place to start. A little peach under the eyes, let it settle, then your concealer over the top. That is the whole technique.

Do I use this instead of concealer, or as well?

As well. Studio Correct goes first to cancel the darkness, then Studio Cover goes over the top to conceal and brighten.

Why peach?

Colour theory. Peach sits opposite the blue and purple tones we get under the eyes on the colour wheel, so it neutralises them rather than just covering them.

How much should I use?

Less is more. A small amount placed exactly where the darkness sits is all you need.
