International Women's Day
As we celebrate International Women's Day, we at SOSU Cosmetics want to take a moment to recognise the power and strength of the women within our female-led business. This year's theme is all about confidence, and we couldn't think of a better message to share with our community.
Of our team of 22, four of our team members took part in a photoshoot to share what makes them feel confident and who inspires them day-to-day. For most, this was a totally new experience, one to nudge them out of their comfort zones, make them feel amazing and fill them with confidence!
To start the day, we asked our team: Alanna (Buyer’s Assistant), Jennifer (eCommerce Manager), Johanna (Head of Sales) and Olivia (Social Media Manager) a series of questions to get to know them, their roles, their motivations and what most fills them with confidence. Our ladies’ individual personalities shone through and we were delighted to listen to what they had to say.
The interviews were followed by individual photoshoots with our teams’ favourite products from the SOSU Cosmetics and Dripping Gold collections, it was a touch choice with so many to choose from!
Fun with friends
Then followed the group photoshoot, filled with lots of laughter and fun! It took quite a few takes to get the final piggy back shot but we were delighted with the end result – a handful of photos where we all have our eyes open!
For Alanna, Jennifer, Johanna and Olivia, this was no ordinary day at the office! All four put in a huge amount of effort to take part, push their boundaries and build their confidence in the process. Here’s what they had to say about the day:
“I absolutely loved taking part in our International Women’s Day campaign. It was such a fun day with the team and I loved hearing everyone’s stories and backgrounds. It makes me super excited for the future of SOSU Cosmetics and Dripping Gold.” ~ Olivia
“Taking part in the International Women’s Day campaign was nerve-racking but exhilarating and inspiring. I promised myself that 2023 would be the year I stepped out of my comfort zone, so agreeing to be part of this campaign has given me a real sense of confidence of what I, and other women can achieve when we push boundaries and dare to be different. Seeing all our individual personalities shine through and getting to see the ladies outside of their day-to-day roles was the best part. It was special to witness everyone evolve and grow in confidence as the day went on, something which I will carry with me moving forward.” ~ Johanna
“Being a part of the International Women’s Day campaign was a whole new experience for me. I’d never been “on set” before and it was so interesting to see how it all works behind the scenes. It was a full-on day but it was so much fun to spend it with my amazing colleagues, who all worked exceptionally hard, in front and behind the camera. I was keen to get involved as I feel that inspiring and supporting women in business is so important in the steps towards gender equality. I hope this campaign has helped to show more about who we are and can fill like-minded women with confidence to reach for their goals.” ~ Jennifer
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the International Women’s Day Campaign! It was such an empowering experience to join together with my fellow colleagues to celebrate our collective strength, resilience and accomplishments. The shoot reminded me of the importance of supporting and uplifting of other women and the power of solidarity.
