Ireland Fashion Week Terms & Conditions

1. GENERAL

1.1Makeup Artist Opportunity

SOSU Cosmetics (hereafter the “Promoter”), in partnership with Ireland Fashion Week (the “Event”), is seeking applications from professional makeup artists to participate with other professional makeup artists in providing makeup applications to models backstage at Ireland Fashion Week.

 

1.2 Agreement to Terms and Application Process

1.2.1 By submitting an application, each applicant (the “Applicant”) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any instructions or guidance provided by the Promoter.

1.2.2 These Terms and Conditions do not constitute an offer or invitation on the part of the Promoter to enter into any contractual arrangement with any Applicant.

 

1.3 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Ireland and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

 

1.4 Eligibility


1.4.1 The application is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over on the date of entry, who can legally provide makeup services in the Republic of Ireland.
1.4.2 The Applicants must be professional makeup artists capable of completing makeup artistry work to the highest standard.


 

2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

2.1 Application Submission

2.1.1 All applications must be submitted online via the official SOSU Cosmetics application form by 15 September 2025. Late, incomplete, or inaccurate applications will not be considered.

2.1.2 Applicants must provide accurate information, including their full name, contact details, professional experience, and any requested portfolio images or links.

2.1.3 Portfolio images must:

  • Be in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Be recent (taken within the last 12 months).
  • Be clear, in colour, and representative of the Applicant’s own work.

 

2.2 Original Work

2.2.1 All work submitted must be the sole creation of the Applicant.

2.2.2 The Makeup Artist(s) agrees not to use any materials, that infringe the copyright, or any other rights of any third party (including any right of confidentiality or privacy). The Makeup Artist(s) shall be solely liable for any damage resulting from any such infringement or resulting harm.

2.2.3 Use of another artist’s work, or misrepresentation of skills, will result in disqualification.

 

2.3 Selection Process

2.3.1 Entries will be reviewed by a panel appointed by the Promoter (the “Panel”).

2.3.2 Shortlisted Applicants may be contacted for additional information or an interview.
2.3.3 The Panel shall select successful Applicant(s) (the “Makeup Artist(s)”). All selection decisions are final and binding including any decision of the Promoter to choose not to proceed with any Applicants
who submitted an application.

 

2.4 Successful Applicant(s)

2.4.1 The Makeup Artist(s) will be required to enter into: (i) a confidentiality agreement; and (ii) an engagement agreement, with the Promoter before participating at Ireland Fashion Week.

2.4.2. Any fee and expenses payable to the Makeup Artist(s) to be agreed under the engagement agreement.  

2.4.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions or any engagement agreement shall be deemed to make the Makeup Artist(s) an employee of the Promoter, or an agent for the Promoter, for any purpose whatsoever. Any engagement of the Makeup Artist(s) is not intended to nor shall it constitute or create a partnership with the Promoter.

 


 

3. EVENT REQUIREMENTS

 

3.1 Availability


3.1.1 The Makeup Artist(s) must be available on the days that the Event takes place. The Promoter understands that the Event shall take place from 6 October 2025 to 10 October 2025 (the “Event Dates”), and the Makeup Artist(s) must be available to travel to various locations around Ireland for the entire duration of the Event. Should the Event Dates change, the Promoter will endeavour to provide to the Makeup Artist(s) as much notice as practicable, but the Promoter shall not be liable to the Makeup Artist(s) for any losses howsoever arising.

3.1.2 The Makeup Artist(s) shall devote such time during the Event Dates as required to provide makeup applications in a timely and professional manner to the relevant models.

3.1.3 Timely arrival and readiness to provide makeup applications at the designated venue(s) are mandatory.

 

3.2 Professional Standards

3.2.1 The Makeup Artist(s) must work to a high professional standard and comply with all health, hygiene and safety standards, regulations and obligations applicable to professional makeup artistry.

3.2.2 The Makeup Artist(s) will be provided with a full SOSU Cosmetics kit, and unless agreed otherwise in writing with the Promoter, shall not use their own makeup kits. The Makeup Artist(s) is solely responsible for ensuring that the kits are clean and comply with hygiene standards throughout the duration of the Event.

 

3.3 Behaviour


3.3.1 The Makeup Artist(s) must behave respectfully at all times during the Event towards models, staff, and fellow participants.
3.3.2 During the Event, the Makeup Artist(s) is not to engage in any conduct that may bring the Promoter, or the Event into disrepute.

3.3.3 The Promoter reserves the right to remove any Makeup Artist(s) from the Event at any time for misconduct or breach of these Terms and Conditions.

3.3.4 The Makeup Artist(s) is expected to follow and observe all procedures, policies and standards of the Promoter, and the Event, as notified to the Makeup Artist(s) from time to time.

3.3.5 The Makeup Artist(s) agrees during the Event not to use any products of the Promoter’s competitors or products that have not been provided by the Promoter, without the prior written consent of the Promoter.

3.3.6 During the Event, and in relation to the Event, the Makeup Artist(s) agrees not to post any social media content in relation to any of the Promoter’s competitors or their products.

3.3.7 During the Event, and in relation to the Event, the Makeup Artist(s) acknowledges and agrees that any social media postings by them in relation to the Promoter and its products shall first require written approval from the Promoter.


 

4. THE BRIEF

 

4.1 The Applicants must create a professionally executed, inspirational makeup look on any model, of any gender or skin tone, taking inspiration from current or upcoming fashion trends.

4.2 The look should reflect the following values:

  • Creativity – Artistic interpretation of fashion-forward makeup trends.
  • Technical Skill – Flawless execution and precision.
  • Cohesion – Makeup that enhances the model’s overall look, including outfit, hair, and styling.

4.3 The makeup will be the primary judging factor, but consideration will also be given to the total presentation.

4.4 Artists may incorporate creative elements such as embellishments or prosthetics, provided they are safe and securely applied.


 

5. USAGE RIGHTS

 

5.1 Grant of Rights

5.1.1 By submitting an application , the Applicants irrevocably grants the Promoter and its partners a transferable, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, and publish photographs, videos, and other materials created during the application process and the Event for any purpose, including but not limited to:

  • marketing and promotion on websites, social media, and press.
  • advertising future events.
  • editorial and PR use.

5.1.2 The Applicants waive any moral rights in the materials to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5.1.3 The Applicants agree that no compensation will be given for the use of such materials.


 

6. LIABILITY

 

6.1 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for:

  • loss, theft, or damage to personal property of the Makeup Artist(s); and
  • personal injury or illness, unless caused by the Promoter’s negligence.

6.2 The Makeup Artist(s) is solely responsible for their own insurance cover for their participation in the Event and makeup applications.

6.3 The Promoter shall not be liable for any claims whatsoever in respect of the makeup applications provided by the Makeup Artist(s) to the models.


 

7. CHANGES & CANCELLATION

 

7.1 The Promoter reserves the right to:

(a)            waive or change the requirements of these Terms and Conditions from time to time without giving the Applicant prior (or any) notice;

(b)           disqualify any Applicant that is guilty of misrepresentation in relation to its application;

(c)            withdraw these Terms and Conditions at any time, or re-invite Applicants on the same or any alternative basis; and

(d)           choose not to award any engagement as a result of the current application process.

7.2 Any such changes will be communicated to Applicants as soon as reasonably possible.


 

8. DATA PROTECTION

 

8.1 The Promoter may from time to time collect and retain personal data including sensitive personal data about the Applicants from which they may be identified. The Applicant acknowledges that while much of this personal data will come directly from the Applicant, there may be circumstances where personal data from other sources will be collected and retained by the Promoter. The Promoter requires such personal data for administration and management purposes and to comply with its obligations regarding the keeping of records.

8.2 By submitting this application, the Applicant accepts that the Promoter may collect, retain and process personal data relating to the Applicants for administration and management purposes (including, where necessary, sensitive personal data) and for such other purposes as may be necessary and that the Promoter may, when necessary for those purposes, transfer and/or make such data available to its advisers, to parties providing products and/or services to the Promoter (including, without limitation IT systems suppliers), to regulatory authorities (including the Revenue Commissioners), and as required by law.


9. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By submitting an application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
